MANILA – Imagine that you are a farmer. Your crops are withering as weather patterns become more volatile, your well water is too salty to drink, and rice is too expensive to buy at the market. So, you leave home in search of a better life.
Millions of people in vulnerable communities around the world do not have to imagine such a scenario. They are living it now, as an increasingly unpredictable climate takes its toll; and their numbers are likely to soar as the effects of climate change intensify.
As of today, $13,768,200,000 Bilion USD is needed by mankind ($2 USD per person ) to mineralize the phytoplankton in all our water ecosystems (comprising a total area of 335,258,000 square kilometers) in order to balance the biogeochemical cycles of hydrogen, carbon, oxygen, nitrogen and sulfur which alone can put an end to our problem of Global Warming aka Climate Change.

“West Bengal has been discussing with us for setting up pumped storage systems along with solar generation facilities and has been asking for our support from the Clean Energy Fund. We have liked the idea and are in the process of preparing a package that would be announced in the next few weeks,” Union power minister Piyush Goyal said at Global Bengal Summit today.
“This will allow storage of solar power generated during the day that can be wheeled out during the night or at times when required and could be installed in all states,” he said.
West Bengal has already installed a 1,000 MW pumped storage facility and has drawn up plans of setting up additional pumped storage system along with solar generation facilities at an estimated investment of about Rs 17,000 crore.
The new project will entail harnessing solar power to pump water for generation of power during peak time and for the state was seeking the clean energy pump for it, officials said.
The proposal is to set up pumped storage system at Turga in Purulia district and cost about Rs 11,000 crore and the state government has asked the Centre to fund 40 per cent of this project cost from the clean energy fund; another Rs 6,000 crore will be required to set up a 1,200 mw solar capacity at the same location, state power minister Manish Gupta said.
Goyal, who was in Kolkata to attend the Global Bengal Summit, said Bengal is on the verge of attaining 100 per cent electrification under ‘Sobar Ghore Alo’ (electricity for all) scheme.
The state is also in talks with the Centre for joining Ujwal Discom Assurance Yojna or UDAY, he said.
On UDAY, Goyal said, “We have urged West Bengal to join the scheme and it would help the state reduce costs. Nationally, UDAY can save close to Rs 1.8 lakh crore and all of it would be passed on to consumers.”
Gupta said the power sector in Bengal is not ailing as has been the case with some other states. “However, joining UDAY would help reduce our interest costs to around 8 per cent which is close to 11 per cent now. We will discuss with the centre,” he said.ister Piyush Goyal said at Global Bengal Summit today.

On running a water pump without operating cost
Use the sun.
Eliminate recurring expense on electricity or fuel to run a pump. 10 years warranty on solar panels, 2 years on MPPT Inverter, and 1 year for SS submersible pump.
In a scientific first, researchers have developed a mathematical equation to capture mankind’s impact on Earth — finding that humans are causing the climate to change 170 times faster than natural forces.
The Australian National University announced the discovery on Sunday, claiming evidence shows human-caused greenhouse gas emission during the past 45 years has increased the rate of temperature rise to 1.7 degree Celsius per century, “dwarfing the natural background rate,” according to Will Steffen, a climate change expert and ANU professor.
We all know that organic waste would rot and smell. More so with livestock businesses. Residual waste for agro industrials. On a grand scale would be MSW organics that create stench and harmful leachates on our landfills.
Over two thirds of Earth’s surface is covered by water; less than a third is taken up by land. As Earth’s population continues to grow, people are putting ever-increasing pressure on the planet’s water resources. In a sense, our oceans, rivers, and other inland waters are being “squeezed” by human activities—not so they take up less room, but so their quality is reduced. Poorer water quality means water pollution.
Solar cells have a complex relationship between temperature and total resistance that produces a non-linear output efficiency which can be analyzed based on the I-V curve.[6][7] It is the purpose of the MPPT system to sample the output of the PV cells and apply the proper resistance (load) to obtain maximum power for any given environmental conditions.[8] MPPT devices are typically integrated into an electric power converter system that provides voltage or current conversion, filtering, and regulation for driving various loads, including power grids, batteries, or motors.
Equivalent Wattage – While lumens are the new standard, it helps to have an easily recognizable guide. Comparing an LED bulb to an incandescent will give you a rough estimate of just how well it will light a room. As a very ballpark figure for LED wattages, 1/4 or 1/5 the incandescent wattage value is usually close to what you need.
Lumens – Lumens directly measure just how much light the bulb gives out in total. On average, a 60-watt incandescent shines at 800 lumens, with roughly 50-100 lumens of difference above or below. The variance depends on manufacturer and age of the lamp. LEDs are directly rated for their max lumen rating and last much longer without dimming of the bulb.
Color Temperature – Your guide to how the light itself will look. Lower values are warmer, with 2700-3000K being a more incandescent “warm white” while higher temperatures like 5000K will deliver a very harsh “stark white” light. Our Lighting Guide lets you select a color temperature and see how it transforms a kitchen.
Driver Content – Because of their design, LEDs do not typically run on AC voltage. Many LEDs require some form of driver to convert the voltage from AC to DC for proper operation. The majority of socket-based LED lamps are self-driven, but you should always check before buying to make sure that you buy both an LED and a driver at the same time if it isn’t self-driven.
